This is a one-year course in which, by attending and completing the required practices, you will develop a level of Shiatsu that allows you to work professionally offering relaxation Shiatsu to people in good health. For working with people with pathologies, we recommend completing the additional 260 hours needed to meet the requirements of APSE (Spanish Association of Shiatsu Professionals).
Ameba is one of the schools recognised by APSE.
This year’s training comprises 190 hours in total, spread across 9 in-person intensive weekends, 9 in-person practice sessions and 9 online sessions. We also ask you to submit 80 practice records (straightforward ones) of at least 20 minutes each, and to receive 8 practice sessions from a person with advanced training.
An 80% attendance rate is required to receive the end-of-course certificate.
We generally like to work with few written materials so we can focus more on the practical aspects of the training. We will provide material at each class by email and in printed form. If at any point you would like more theoretical information or guidance on available resources, just ask us.
For classes, we work mainly on the floor on futons. We ask you to bring a cloth or small towel for the futon and clean socks.
